The IQ-5100 Polarization Controller, engineered for the IQ-200 Optical Test System, provides continuous random scanning over all possible states of polarization. This module is ideal for measuring the PDL of WDW and passive components such as couplers, isolators, and Bragg gratings. It can be used for any measurement application requiring controlled or varying states of polarization.
Using four liquid-crystal elements, the IQ-5100 Polarization Controller simulates the action of four variable waveplates and therefore provides a full sampling of polarization states at any wavelength from 1200 to 1635 nm.
